Rector’s Welcome Message for the Launch of UNESA ARTRIC
It is my great pleasure to introduce UNESA ARTRIC (Arts Ranking), a ranking initiative in the field of the arts that is open to participation from higher education institutions at both the national and international levels.
UNESA ARTRIC is designed to assess and recognize the efforts of universities in utilizing and producing creative works that foster awareness, appreciation, and engagement with artistic diversity. Given that the arts are inherently complex and cannot be easily evaluated through purely objective or quantitative measures owing to the many qualitative dimensions involved in assessing the quality and value of artistic creations this ranking does not seek to evaluate individual works of art. Instead, it focuses on the commitment and initiatives of higher education institutions in promoting and nurturing artistic diversity through creative endeavors and institutional practices.
UNESA ARTRIC is founded upon the perspective that universities which integrate the arts as an essential component of their governance, academic environment, and institutional development play a significant role in advancing and preserving human civilization. Through the cultivation of artistic values, creativity, cultural understanding, and innovation, higher education institutions contribute meaningfully to the enrichment of society and the advancement of humanity.
The scope of the Arts Ranking encompasses all branches, disciplines, and domains of the arts.
