DKV Strategy to Strengthen Student Competencies
Marsudi , S.Pd., M.Pd., DKV Study Program Coordinator (Koorprodi) said, this workshop was a routine activity in preparing competent graduates. Every year, this activity comes with different materials.
Dia noted, there were as many as 9 out of 10 DKV students choosing to research the design of works in their thesis. Therefore, material related to print media is considered very relevant in this workshop, especially for final year students.
“ Students need to understand because it is an important foundation in their knowledge and will certainly help in designing works according to client expectations, combining printed elements with unique creativity," he explained.
In In this context, he revealed that the invited presenters were part of a partner marketing team that focused on printing and material supply. This was taken to ensure that students not only understand printed material in depth, but also have insight regarding relevant calculations in the printing process.
Understanding This calculation is very important because it has a significant impact on various aspects, from media publications to promotions, even to product packaging. Students are expected to be able to optimize the use of printed materials in various creative and business contexts.
On material session, Hendra Cahyadi discussed the importance of the role of media and materials in creating works. According to him, the proper use of media and materials is not only for complementary elements, but also as a driving force for added value in a work, especially at the final stage.
Original and the quality of materials and media has a large impact on the quality of execution of a work. Therefore, a deep understanding of how to utilize these media and materials is key in creating impressive and meaningful end results.
“ Currently, it is found that many DKV students tend to only know one or two types of printed materials or paper types, which sometimes becomes less than optimal in their presentations," he explained.
Dia emphasizes that if the work has been functioned in a real context, then the selection of printed material becomes a very crucial factor. Therefore, students need to open their eyes and seriously consider how to present work that stands out, by combining various printed materials appropriately.
“ This is the right time for them to think about how to present their work better, through the right combination of various printed materials," he concluded. []
